Marks post about someone taking a selfi reminded me of this, it was about 6 years ago but I still rant about it.
I was sitting in my van in the car park in the center of a little village called Masham eating my fish and chip lunch and a guy came over and knocked on my window “can you move your van please mate we need to fiml here and can’t have a sign written van in the shot”.
The car park was rammed so there was no where I could go that would be out of shot so I told him this and said I would move once I finished my lunch.
“but we need to film here, you have to move”
Do I Realy need to move? It’s a public car park that I have paid to park in and I don’t see any restrictions up.
“you don’t understand, we need to make this film”
No pal you don’t understand, I’m parked here and I’m eating my fish and chips, I paid to park and I bought the food from that shop there supporting the local economy. I would be happy to move if there were anywhere to move to but their isn’t and I would like to finish my food before it goes cold.
“but yo” shut up and piss off. The faster you leave and let me get on with eating the faster I will be out of your way.
Bloody TV companies think they own the world.
Wrighting this I just remembered another, Wednesday night I’m going to the crag to climb, I get there and find the road closed because Emerdale is shooting a scene of 2 people walking down the path from the crag to the road. There is a police man there stopping traffic and I’m front of the que.
45 bloody minute’s I watch them set up and do 4 or 5 takes of this walk before they are satisfied and the road opens.
As the copper was opening the road again he said thank you for your patience, I said I didn’t have much choice but he told me I did. He said he had no legal right to close the road and I could have driven through at any time, it was just done as a curtsy to ITV.
That pissed me off, I waited 45 minutes when they could have waited 3 minutes for me and I would have been on the crag with my mates rather than watching them climb from the road.
To add insult to injury I asked what eppiside it would be on and that bit was cut anyway
